Dementia Service

DementiaLearning Disability Specialist Health Dementia Service

Where there are concerns dementia is suspected, we work with the person, carers/family and staff to understand and address these concerns and facilitate a diagnosis where appropriate.

Where a person with a learning disability is given a diagnosis of dementia, we offer clinical support tailored to their needs and/or referral to other specialist services as appropriate.

We provide clients, carers, families and staff with access to clear information and sources of support and training around dementia issues.

We offer advice and support on issues, needs and care of people with a learning disability who are identified as having dementia to support them to maintain their homes and day placements wherever possible.

We provide this service wherever the person lives or prefers to be seen.

People get referred through the Community Team (Learning Disabilities) and the Learning Disability Specialist Health Service at Ridge Hill.
