Dudley Voices for Choice (DVC)
Dudley Voices for Choice are a self advocacy group for people who have a learning disability or autism who live in Dudley

They talk about things that are important to people with learning disabilities and autism

They speak up for people with learning disabilities

They provide training about learning disability awareness. It is done by members who are employed and paid. They have trained local NHS and Council workers

They attend regional and national learning disability board meetings
They are on committees for other groups including the national communication network and health groups

They have a team who can inspect local services, and give written feedback to help improve services

They write an easy read newsletter “4Seasons” for adults who have learning disabilities

All their information is in easy read and contains pictures. They put other people’s information into easy read if they are asked to.

Safe Places is a scheme for vulnerable people
It gives people a place of safety if it is needed when out and about in the community
